I'm still working on these issues at the moment, but, i't would probably
fall on your machines architecture unless libsndfile handles this for you.

In short, yes.
I origionally started writing it as a wrapper but beacause of a couple small
reasons I decided to put the wrapper on hold unitl I have more time to think
it through more properly. I guess one of my biggest problems with it is that
using the f(read|write|gets*) functions on a stream like this will severley
slow things down if you want to manipulate the pcm data sample by sample.
i.e. with many calls to explode() on a large strings to break into indiviual
pcm, manipulate, then implode() them back together again and write to
another stream. But it would be very nice to be able to interact with
oggvorbis ext and I belive someone has developed an mp3 lame ext too.

Yes, thank you...I will fix.
I'm at work right now, so later tonight (hopefully) I'll fix the ref passing
and work on those other issues dicussed then commit. I plan on adding stream
support after the first release.
