I'd like to offer my implementation of the handlebars templating language ( http://handlebarsjs.com/) for inclusion in PECL. The main library is written in C and is (currently, see below) licensed under the LGPLv3. This library provides the lexer, parser, and handlebars-compatible opcode compiler and VM implementation, as well as other support functions. https://github.com/jbboehr/handlebars.c The extension provides bindings to the library and is also (currently) licensed under the LGPLv3. https://github.com/jbboehr/php-handlebars Both of these repositories utilize my export of the the handlebars specification and are heavily tested: https://github.com/jbboehr/handlebars-spec https://travis-ci.org/jbboehr/handlebars.c/builds/122959704#L2861 https://travis-ci.org/jbboehr/php-handlebars/jobs/125417990#L2567 The extension optionally utilizes another of my extensions to implement Psr\Logger\LoggerAwareInterface. The extension does not require this to function. This other extension provides the PSR interfaces, such that they may be used in an extension. Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with PHP-FIG. https://github.com/jbboehr/php-psr Perhaps not relevant for this discussion, there is a another component, which provides a compiler to PHP code: https://github.com/jbboehr/handlebars.php I realize LGPLv3 is not accepted into PECL, and LGPLv2 is discouraged. I'm open to changing the license; my preference would be either: - LGPLv2 or later (e.g. user's choice between any of those versions of the LGPL) - MPLv2 Best Regards, John Boehr
