Hi,
One of the additions to package2.xml makes it possible to depend on a
PECL extension without it being loaded into memory. This is through the
<providesextension> tag, which tells the installer what extension is in
the package. One of the changes in PEAR 1.4.1 is that running "pear
convert" no longer assumes that the extension is a lower-cased version
of the package name, so that package "PDO" is assumed to bundle
extension "PDO" instead of "pdo".
As I recall, the "SQLite" package is the "sqlite" extension (correct me
if I'm wrong). How many other packages are there whose package
name/extension name differ in case or actual name?
