This is the whole point of PECL an PHP extensions isn't it? You extend, transform, modify, hack the language as you desire. From there I'm free to use it or free to think your string extension is stupid. To dismiss the idea outright flies in the face of core tenants of FOSS. Or, as a smart man once said, "I disapprove of what you say (code), but I will defend to the death your right to say (code) it." ;) I for one would love a unified OO interface for both strings and arrays as I find them to be more concise. A good example of what I'm looking for would be: $arr = new array('foo'); $foo = $arr->pop(); --Joe
