Wez,
Hate to admit you are right, but I still wouldn't define it as a RANT,
desperation and tiredness was getting the better of me. But there was
constructive elements in that mail as well.
I didn't think I was wasting peoples time though, I had a problem and needed
it solved, I was simply asking if anyone had a working binary, blaming this
for the issue.
I still feel that linux/unix can download the latest module via PERL,
windows can't, you had to give me a binary from the unstable side of PHP, I
wouldn't normally have looked there for it, I was trying to then compile it
myself to no avail.
Anyway GENIUS:
Make sure that you load php_mbstring.dll before php_mailparse.dll in
your php.ini file.
This now works.
I take full blame for being a complaining, stupid English man, complaining
is our national sport though. I think I ought to install Red Hat and be done
with bill gates.... oops another whinge.
Thanks you Wez and all on this list for your assistance.
Ian

Kicking off an email with a complaint is certainly a rant in my opinion,
particularly when someone is already trying to help you.
Did you forget that PHP 5 is beta software?
Did you forget that PHP comes with no warranty?
Did you forget that all work is done by volunteers?
In other words, what gives you the right to complain?
The fact of the matter is that windows module support is (in some ways)
better, since you get the very latest version automatically every 3 hours,
and
you don't need to compile it yourself.
> And asking me to go away is just nasty!
If you're wasting everyone's time (including your own), not really.
When someone escalates their mail to the "not getting anywhere so I'll
complain" level, there are two techniques to resolve the issue. You can
appeal to their wallet, or you can appeal to their ego. I applied both of
these to you and...
> "PHP Startup: Unable to load the dynamic library
> C:\PHP\ext\php_mailparse,dll - the specified module could not
> be found"
... succeeded in getting a little bit more useful information.
Is php_mailparse.dll really in C:\php\ext (did you really spell it correctly
in php.ini) ?
Make sure that you load php_mbstring.dll before php_mailparse.dll in your
php.ini file.
If it still doesn't work, you need to tell us enough about your setup that
we
can replicate the problem, otherwise we're in the dark.
