The old kadm5 package only provides KADM (administrative) access to a MIT kdc. That functionality is also (optionally) included in the krb5 package - which also contains credential cache management and GSSAPI. So I don't think there is anything to merge. It also won't build against a current version of MIT kerberos as the previously interal API for KADM is now exported and they changed some function arguments. with best regards
I still see duplicity and possibilities for merging, you e.g. say: "that functionality is also (optionally) included in the krb5 package". There are two options from my point of view: - two packages: your without KADM and KADM - one with both, I don't understand clearly why you won't use current KADM api I still prefer one package - maybe current pecl KADM package isn't maintained anymore, you can try to contact his author and discuss details (maybe possible delete) and send the result to the list.
