I had troubles implementing an "event loop", which should be written for
Windows specifically.
libeio itself emulates the requests... But is that emulation would be really
useful on server machines? The majority of functions imply Linux like
platform. And I'm thinking if it is really needed to complicate the code for
few requests just to support Windows. If it become stable, I'll try to
implement it for Windows too.
Currently, event loop is triggered via semaphores. There was no possibility
to
safely use pipes. I had a conversation with the author of libeio about
adding a
void *arg in order to not hold the descriptors in global variables. BTW,
normal
macros fetching thread-safe globals didn't work as expected. It seems, there
is
a way to implement semaphores on Windows too.
But I'd like to get the account and publish the code in PECL.
