It was the only way that I could get PHP 4.0.3 to compile on OpenBSD 2.7 :) Adding LDFLAGS was suggested on the OBSD list. (Any if you are wondering, yes I have started try to learn more about the build process - I have a copy of the 'GNU Autoconf, Autoconf and Libtool' book :) --zak
