NT has a POSIX personality as it had a OS/2 personality
the POSIX personality implemented only the bare minimum that was needed
to be compliant and so was very limited (no networking)
POSIX compliance had been a requirenment for servers to be purchased
by th US Government in the late 80s and early 90s AFAIK
this is no longer the case and so NT4 and Win2K haven't been POSIX
certified and i'm not sure if the POSIX personality is even available
in Win2K
no version of WinNT was ever built to be POSIX compliant or claimed
to be so in native mode
