Right then,
When I get PHP 4.0.6 to run "phpinfo();" I get the following results.
From IIS, I've gone into Properties / Home Directory / Configuration and
I've added c:\php4\php.exe to the dialog. I then run a php script with
phpinfo() inside (I assume this is ISAPI but I'm not too fluent with Windows
installs just yet, but I'm getting there) and get the following results.
http://www.milonic.co.uk/phpinfo_from_iis.htm
$PHP_SELF is clearly defined
inside the above page.
However when I do "c:\php4\php.exe phpinfo.php" ( I assume this is the CGI
approach ) I get a *space* where $PHP_SELF should be. Also, the only place
that phpinfo.php can be seen on this page is in HTTP_SERVER_VARS["argv"] not
sure if this is correct or not but you can see the results at
http://www.milonic.co.uk/phpinfo_from_php_exe.htm
I hope i'm not being too confising here but both examples where done using
PHP 4.0.6 so i can only assume that the problem has been around for some
time thus allowing you, in my humble opinion, to release 4.1.0 but who am I
to say :-))
Anyway I hope this clear things up a bit.
Regards
Andy.
