Last year we had 10 attendees and one mentor (Sebastian). The "track"
was relatively simple: We had an introductory presentation by
Sebastian on how to test. Sebastian had made the choice of going to
test the Reflection API, so we made a list of untested functions in
Reflection, which were written on a whiteboard. Then, functions were
assigned to the attendees based on what the attendees wanted to work
on. As they finished the tests for a function, they marked it as done
on the whiteboard and assigned themselves a new function to test. This
worked remarkably well, at least for the 10 attendees we had. But I
think this is scalable. It might work well to prepare the lists of
things to test (we did it then and there, but it is something that is
easily preparable by checking code coverage reports).
During the test-writing, Sebastian was helping people with problems
they came by, and the organizers helped as well here and there with
more general problems (workstation setup, submitting the tests to the
issue tracker).
Our biggest issue (setup problems) is solved by the virtual machines
that are now available (or will be tomorrow, as I understood from
Pierre).
Hope this helps.
Stefan
