revision to the standard that would make me happy

The current standard draft says: **Namespaces** Namespaces should be all lowercase and must follow the following convention: <vendor>\<package_name>\ Examples: <?php namespace pear2\text_diff; namespace zend\controller; Underneath each namespace, the package can declare further sub-namespaces and classes. Each level under the namespace must be in a new directory and classes must map to the traditional PEAR1 style class name to directory structure. The revision I would like to see simply states: A package may also declare sub-packages. Sub-packages may name classes with their own package name: <vendor>\<subpackage_name> or with the parent package name: <vendor>\<package_name> With this revision, it would be possible to split up a package and retain the same class names for newly sub-packages. This would literally erase my primary objection to the standard. The only thing left would be determining how to handle details like underscore handling. Greg
