I have just set up a Linux server (slackware 7 kernel version 2.2.13) with Apache 1.3.9 and php (version 3.14 at present, but initially 4beta3). I found that I can't pass my urlencoded(serialized()) variables through successive pages,i.e. if I use a variable which has been passed without decoding and unserializing on an intermediate page the value is empty on the page where I finally attempt to use it. This does not happen with php3 (I confirmed by running the same application through the server after recompiling with php3 instead of php4). The only difference in my Apache configuration is in the AddType directives with php3: AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3 with php4: AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3 (not .php as in the documentation) which I used to keep all file extension references in the application unchanged. Is the variable problem a function of my directive, or are these variables passed differently in 4 beta? Thanks.
