V4 inherited the 3.0.11 mysql bug?

When I first tried to use 3.0.11 with phplib I continually received
"document contains no data errors". Searching the bugs I found that
someone had reported a problem with mysql and php 3.0.11 that caused
these errors. I went back to 3.0.9 and all was well. Unfortunately, now
that I have v4 up and running, I receive the same "document contains no
data errors" on the phplib example index.php3 page that 3.0.11 caused.
Can someone else confirm this is the same bug that caused this in 3.0.11?
If so, I guess I will have to go back to 3.0.9 until it is resolved.
