In the final product I would tend to agree with you. When my scripts are
completed,
they will be running on a apache process on other than 'nobody', and will
handle
only this script -- at which time the mode will be 755 (or maybe not even
that open).
But right now, I want to be able to telnet in and play with the directories
manually
while I am writing the script and testing, and since I can't log in as
nobody (I don't
have access) I need to have the script create the directories public write.
