I've been working with PHP/Zend for a couple of months now, and while I
like it immensely, there are things I'd like to see. I'm an ASP
developer and what I'm suggesting is what I find lacking in comparison.
Flames concerning ASP to /dev/null, please. Keep in mind that I've only
been using PHP a little while and some of what I'm suggesting might

If I could assign variables and call a function (rs.update();), that
would save me a lot of time from having to type
$query = "INSERT INTO FOO (";
$query .= "variable1, variable2, variable3)";
$query .= "VALUES (";
etc...
A global asa file:
If this file exists in the root directory, I can maintain session
variables and cache SQL queries.
On Linux, integration to other components using ORB:
One of the very nice things about ASP is its ability to use COM and
integrate methods from a component into your code.
Anyway, just a few items that I think would enhance my ability to code
using PHP...
