This has never been a problem before since the website development
discussions only happen once a decade :)
The Event notifications have been disabled for now (will probably only
be sent once a week), but we do need to handle the wiki registration
karma requests.
As for the SVN commits, sure, we can create a new list for that if you
all think its worth it.
I'd still be interested in seeing this happen.
From what I remember, the idea had some support and the only opposition
was from people who expected users to "make a filter" or something,
which isn't always feasible, so I don't think really is a good reason
not to do it.
So could we do it? Even if it's only the SVN commits that we can get rid
of, that'd be heaps better than nothing.
