I understand. I rarely use the mouse at all myself (though I
rarely use a GUI either, save for the browser).

Many more did *not* want it than did, historically --- and it's an
issue that's come up a few times over the years with the same results.

A combination of first-tab and hotkeys would be the simplest, but
I also see no reason why, in the redesign effort, we don't add a
preference to My PHP.net for auto-focus on page-load. That would
probably be the best case for a permanent resolution here, and
wouldn't be difficult to implement even to the old version of the
site.
