ID: 49783 Updated by: aharvey@php.net Reported By: mike at damm dot com Status: Assigned Bug Type: Website problem Operating System: Mac PHP Version: Irrelevant Assigned To: bjori New Comment: Since this is really bugging me, I figured I'd come up with a possible patch to be productive about it. :) The patch (against the current web/php trunk) is at http://www.adamharvey.name/patches/bug-49783-hide-show.patch, and reuses the note icons as togglers for each section and the user notes. It's worked in my admittedly somewhat limited testing in Firefox, Chrome and IE 8. Obviously, as an outsider, I'm unaware of any coding standards this should be adhering to, so it may be horribly unusable, but hopefully it's at least a useful starting point. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-10-06 15:29:01] danbrown@php.net I'd agree. Fairly certain the original submitter here later submitted Bug #49784. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-10-06 07:38:25] bjori@php.net We should add an icon for collapsing these sections though ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-10-05 22:46:34] mike at damm dot com P.S. Love your books! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-10-05 22:44:45] danbrown@php.net That's all we ask. Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-10-05 22:41:19] mike at damm dot com I am sorry I hurt your feelings, since you clearly spent dozens of minutes adding this feature. In the future I will make a note of visiting the jQuery example page you lifted the code from to get a handle on the expected behavior before reporting that it lacks any coherent usability design or function. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
