There used to be design mockups of random pages on
http://wiki.php.net/web/redesign/mockups,
but those links do not work
anymore. Those mockups were just random brainstorming ideas, and
nothing really decided on, so you are totally free to invent something
crazy.
Depending on how much time you want to spend, there are bunch of
different things to work on.
- Browse through random manual pages (like reference pages, faq, class
descriptions, ..) and make sure they look pretty
- Make /logos pretty
- Make /urlhowto pretty
- Make /releases pretty
- Design a event calendar
- Design a new and usable download page
- Design a new frontpage
How to work on the changes..
Initialize a complete phpweb environment:
http://wiki.php.net/web/mirror#i_m_lazy._just_give_me_something_to_execute
Then access your newly installed phpweb mirror and go to /my.php.
Scroll to the bottom, enable the 'beta' option and click 'set all preferences'.
Now you should be in beta mode.
Beta mode uses different header structure and css files.
In the cases where code changes are required, they are wrapped in an
if (myphpnet_beta()) {}
Open styles/structure.css, styles/doc.css and styles/theme.css and
start hacking.
Once finished do;
$ svn diff > mychanges.patch.txt
Then send the mychanges.patch.txt to this list, with a quick summary
of the changes made.
