My suggestion would be to go buy a cheapo computer, like a Pentium 75 or
something, nothing more than $300. Or probably a computer you have lying
around the house. Anyway, install Linux, and PHP and run your own local
webserver. That's what I'll be doing pretty soon. I have Win2K and tried
getting PHP to work on that, but I guess Win2K has some permission problems
when trying to rename and create files in PHP which I do alot of that.
Webmonkey has a good tutorial on how to set up a Linux machine. It's not
that difficult. Here's a link to the article on Webmonkey. They recommend
an old 486 would do, but I'd go with at least a Pentium class.
