I have PHP3 installed with WIN98 and PWS on this system and it works
perfectly, running scripts from c:\inetpub\wwwroot\php.
I download and install PHP4 on the same system:
1) Copy files to c:\php4
2) Copy mvcrt.dll and php4ts.dll to c:windows\system
3) Renamed php.ini-optimized to c:\windows\php.ini .......only edit:
extension_dir = c:\php4
4) Edited PWS-php4.reg to read:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\w3svc\parameters\Scrip
t Map]
".php"="c:\\php4\\php4isapi.dll"
......double-clicked and merged it with registry.
6) Have 'execute' and 'scripts' rights enabled on c:\php4 and
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\php
5) Restarted system
Now, when I run: "http://127.0.0.1.php/phpinfo.php (NOTE: I can run
http://127.0.0.1/php/phpinfo.php3 and I get the
'info' page for PHP 3.0.l.6)
all I get is a flash of a download pop-up, which is then replaced by a dos
window (no output to browser) which says:

and quickly closes.
Any ideas as to what's causing this and what steps do I take to fix?
