Re: Problems with oracle 8.0.3 Personal edition and php4 on windows 98

Aleksander, I am having the same problem. I am using: 1. Personal Oracle (8.0.4.0.0) 2. Windows 98 Second Edition 3. PHP4 (4.0.0) 4. Apache 1.3.12 You said in you message that you got OCI to work OK. How is the possible without the php_oci8.dll loaded? I have the "extensions=php_oci8.dll" in my php.ini file (and I know it is read because some of my simple scripts show a header with the directive and do not show the header without the directive), but it seems to have no effect because when I try to use the OCI commands and get the error "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: ocilogon() in c:\phpdev\www\ora_test.php4 on line 5"; so the dll is surely not loaded. So if the php.ini file does not load the dll and the dl command does not load the dll, how is the dll to get loaded? Is it possible that some other dll has to loaded prior to loading php_oci8.dll? Also in the PHP manual it says "You will need the Oracle8 client libraries to use this extension". I have personal oracle and can access the database via SQL*Plus without any problem. Do I need something else?
