Just chiming in with my agreement re: PHP as Apache mod... certain extensions don't want to load w/ php4apache.dll Apache module. Didn't try the GD extension, but was getting similar results with php_oci8 and php_oracle. On a side note, to Daniel (hope you catch this one), the oci8 dll seems to have a problem connecting to oracle home directories on EXTERNAL (let's say network) mapped drives when running as Apache mod, or even CGI w/in Apache. My ORACLE_HOME (set in the registry, etc) is X:\ORANT8, but it doesn't look like Apache is searching external drives... My path environment includes this directory (x:\orant8;x:\orant8\bin, etc.) - type PATH at command prompt and the x:\ directories show up (and running php at command line - bypassing Apache - connects okay)... but when I do a phpinfo(), Apache is not showing these in it's PATH environment variable... could it be that Apache doesn't or cannot look to external/network drives for includes??? Just a hunch. And this is not JUST the oci8 dll... connecting to a valid ODBC datasource (defined as an Oracle System DSN, and checked by connecting with Access97) doesn't work in Apache/PHP4 either (same external drive problem???) Also, this is irrespective of CGIvs.Apache mod (in this case, anyway). OK, enough rambling... got all that? -- Andy Hoffman Web Developer Bristol-Myers Squibb email: andy.hoffman@bms.com
