I've used Julie Meloni's instructions for installing Apache before, and everything went fine. This time, Apache won't run. It gives me the "cannot determine local host name." message and tells me to set the ServerName directive. Setting this in httpd.conf has no effect. I'm using Win98 on a laptop with no net connection (used as a temporary development machine until I get something better). I can get Xitami to run and load pages, so I think I should be able to get Apache to run also.
