Perhaps $name is a reserved word in PHP4??? I don't really know, but it
seems that when you changed the variable name from $name to $nome, it
worked.... am I geting that right?

My guess is that if track_vars is enabled by default, then not putting any
setting will give this setting the default value. You could explicitly set
track_vars to on, if you like, but I don't think in this case it will do
anything different... only if you set it to "Off" will the setting make any
difference.
