Hi,
Even after reading some of the previous threads regarding this issue, I'm
still having problems enabling the gd (and other) dll extensions in the
php.ini file.
I am running Win98, PHP4.0.0, Zend v0.98 and Apache 1.3.12 (win32) and I
have downloaded the dlls from http://download.swwwing.com/php4/modules/
My initial php.ini settings are:
extension_dir = ./ ; the default
extension=php_gd.dll
The error I am getting when I run php.exe -i > info.htm at the DOS prompt
is:
"PHP Fatal error: Unable to load dynamic library 'php_gd.dll'<br>
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
in Unknown on line 0"
I've attempted commenting out the "extension_dir=" entry and use the full
path name
to the dll, ie. extension=d:\\php4\\php_gd.dll, but PHP crashes and causes 2
fatal exception errors:
fatal exception 0E occurred at 0028:C02A60FD in VXD IFSMGR(04) + 00007811
... and ...
fatal exception 0D occurred at 0246:015F47FB ...
Hoewever, (with extension_dir commented out and) if the full path supplied
is d:\php4\php_gd.dll or d:/php4/php_gd.dll, PHP says "...unable to load
dynamic library...".
The strange thing is...if I try to enable the php_crypt.dll (or
php_mcrpyt.dll) library using the default php.ini settings, PHP says:
"PHP Warning: Invalid library (maybe not a PHP library) 'php_crypt.dll' in
Unknown on line 0"
And if I enable the php_ldap.dll or php_calendar.dll (which come with the
PHP4Win32 binary distribution), php -i > info.htm returns with no errors.
But the php_calendar.dll from download.swwwing.com throws up a...
"PHP Fatal error: Unable to load dynamic library 'php_calendar.dll'<br>
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
in Unknown on line 0"
Any help would be appreciated.
