There are many companies (like mine) in which the programmer's don't have
much of a choice as to the os/server platform; the network/system
administrators get to choose what platform they go with. As they say, my
place is "a Microsoft shop" so I'm stuck with NT/IIS. At least I was able
to talk them into scrapping ASP in favor of PHP!!!

I thought so too, but i saw that on Win2000 apache uses 1/3 the memory of
IIS
(on startup at least) and is lighter on resources, so on my somewhat under
powered notebook, my clear choice is apache.
