Hi *: I've been working with PostgreSQL for 2 years and never got corruption problems. Right now, I'm using it in an application connecting via PHP to a database with 10 table and more than 1 million records on each and sometimes there are more than 20 users connected at the same time and 'til now I don't have problems with it. Of course, there is still the 8K limitation. According to the developers, it should be solved on version 7.1. Anyway you can get the sources from Postgres, modify this parameter, recompile and forget about the problem. I agree with John Slee, I choose Postgres over Oracle and any commercial database system. Of course, it does not mean maybe some day I will have to use Oracle or any other, but everytime it depends on me I would take Postgres to my side. Anyway, I always say that the best database system is the one that is more suitable to your problem and application. That's always something relative. Regards, -- Luis R.
