FWIW, I often see PHP's documentation highlighted as deserving of kudos in the computer book community. The ability for users to add notations that then get folded back into the official docs makes professionals view this as almost an "open source book," which grabs a lot of attention for its ability to get errors corrected and examples provided by all users, instead of just the "official maintainers."
