Bout the type thing, well you can imagine types right..
Anyway, I see there isn't much interest for it, so it was a nice
exercise anyways.. I'm interested in improving PHP's OO capabilities
but I get the feeling OO is not really wanted in PHP by the developers
in here, this true?
It´s not really true. "PHP won´t be a fully blown OO language" is the most used phrase on unloved requests, but...
1)
See bug 5377 (bugs.php.net) there´s a description of what *could/should* be done on :: for PHP. It´s accepted in a small range of developers (unfortunately the superior core devs have not participated at that debate). A think that´s the rewrites they fear of (stas noticed) being the reasion that this is not implemented yet.
2)
Andi noticed that there is much space for OO optimizations in PHP (I´ve noticed a 60-100% performance decrease accessing a simple objects properties compared to access to an array).
If you like OO in PHP try to optimize OO performance.
