Originally I though it was because I was trying to force libtool to link it the way Andrej indicated in his suggested work around for bug #3386, which it obviously didn't like. However it compiles fine if I don't try to force it that way. It just won't run because it can't find ifx_checkAPI. After redirecting all the output from a simple configure/make script to a file and searching the file, I can't find any instances of checkapi.o. It's not in the log file at all. Since it's required to be compiled into the shared library for informix to work, I was a little surprised at that... So, I reinstalled a clean copy of PHP 4.0.2 and tried again. There still wasn't any reference to the checkapi.o file. I've attached the log and the compile script. The error message I get at run time is identical to the one that was reported in Bug #3765. I've submitted this as bug #7031. -- Tyler Bannister tbannister@mpathix.com
