See /opt/informix/prod/lib/esql/checkapi.so Then do a ld -G -R/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/bin -h libcheckapi.so checkapi.so and move the checkapi.so file into your LD_LIBRARY_PATH So, I have NO idea why informix chose to only leave this file as a *.o, and not *.so since everything else is a *.so. That being the case you may run into trouble. I didn't though... --pk > -----Original Message----- > From: Tyler Bannister [mailto:tyler@nas.net] > Sent: Wednesday, October 04, 2000 12:31 PM > To: Jonathan Leffler; Danny Heijl > Cc: afalout@ihug.co.nz; php-dev@lists.php.net > Subject: [PHP-DEV] RE: Bug id #3386/3765/7031 - Informix related > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Jonathan Leffler [mailto:jleffler@informix.com] > > Sent: October 3, 2000 4:54 PM > > To: Danny Heijl > > Cc: afalout@ihug.co.nz; Tyler Bannister; php-dev@lists.php.net > > Subject: Re: Bug id #3386 - Informix related > > > > > > On Tue, 3 Oct 2000, Danny Heijl wrote: > > >At some point PHP4 introduced the use of "libtool" in the > > configure process. > > > > I think it was pretty early on, and it is a complete pain.
