Well the checkapi.o is already in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I don't have a
checkapi.so. I tried using "ld -G -R/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/bin -h
libcheckapi.so checkapi.o" but it produced an a.out file. So I renamed the
a.out to checkapi.so and put it in LD_LIBRARY_PATH but that seems to have
made no difference to the webserver before or after I recompiled PHP.
Shouldn't there be a reference to the file somewhere so that the object
file is actually included in the php4lib file? As far as I can tell it's
not included at all.
