I'd suggest removing the C-like usage of the alternative syntax, or
putting it in a side note: "You can also use the alternative syntax
this way, but it's a particular idea because
- it breaks most text editors
- it will confuse and annoy experienced programmers
- whatever other technical, non-esthetic objections you had.
Using the alternative syntax in inline HTML is a very, very, very
useful feature.
