Well, that assumes that these pages will have absolutely no PHP in them
which is not the case. When I said create a script to generate the static
pages, I basically meant that we would generate the data that is in the
database and wrap the php-driven look-and-feel around them. Basically
doing an sql query and generating a page that looks like sites.php3 and
then serving that up. For pages like that that only changes about once a
day, it doesn't make much sense to serve them up completely dynamically
since that also means that we wouldn't be able to mirror them easily.
