Correct me if I'm wrong, but once these issues about thread-safety have been solved, it will not only affect the behavioud towards Apache 2.x but also the ISAPI module, would it not?
They're only partially related. Most of the libraries under Windows are thread safe (not all of them, but most of them).
That realy depends on whether it was written ground up on windows, which case it is more likely to be thread safe, or if it is a port to windows (ie GD), in which case it will likely have many of the same thread issues as it's linux build.
Not entirely accurate (there are virtually no thread-unsafe functions in the C runtime library under Windows, there are plenty under UNIX). The biggest class of thread safety issues (using thread-unsafe functions) is therefore not an issue under Windows. Of course, libraries which do use globals/statics (like GD) would require conversion, which is why I only said 'most' of them are thread safe, and not all of them... Zeev
