Great. Would this server handle a live testing of livedocs, if
announced? Derick hinted he is going to set up livedocs at docs.php.net,
so it will be available for public testing, but it does not seem to be
too fast (and never seemed to be so).
Would it be any problem for you if we point doc.php.net to this machine
(as docs.php.net points elsewhere)? We still need to fix this up with
the systems guys. I can add a subdomain very easily myself, but it still
needs to be discussed :)
docs.php.net can point towards my other server which should not be a
problem. I'm going to drop a line for the systems team to provide the
little load average patch from www.php.net incase the load on the box
gets too high we can show a currently busy page or what not.
OK.
Initially we should test that livedocs is functioning correctly (I
know it's quite a bit of work getting it running under BSD) prior to
the announcement. Do we need to run it under PHP4 or PHP5?
PHP 4 IMHO, as the mirrors are mostly running on PHP 4 currently, and the first most important goal is to make livedocs working in place of the online manual.
