That said, it does seem like PHP 4 could be considered "historical" now, and the majority of references to it are no longer useful on a day-to-day basis (although there may be a few special cases where explaining the historical behaviour helps people to understand why things are the way they are).

Of course, informations of this kind should remain. Main goal of this proposal is improving user experience so we cannot treat this rule dogmatically.
