I may have made a mistake -- I thought that $HTTP_POST_VARS had only been deprecated, not fully eliminated. But it is possible that this is no longer true. I am using an older PHP binary (4.1.2), if you are using 4.2 or newer then it may be different. According to this page http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.variables.predefined.php#21113 You are correct. There is an annotation near the bottom (search for the string "With PHP 4.2 you cannot access the variables except" to go straight to the part of the page that says this) that suggests that you cannot use the old form anymore. Apologies, Erik ---- Erik Price Web Developer Temp Media Lab, H.H. Brown pricee@hhbrown.comYou mean we don't need extra work in order to enable HTTP_POST_VARS? I think that's wrong: please refer to my first message. $HTTP_POST_VARS["something"] is always empty, which might mean we have to do something to enable it like old PHP required --enable-track-vars option. But we do not have a transitional way? I mean, can't we enable HTTP_POST_VARS by some configuration option? It's enabled. You can use it -- just use it instead of $_POST where you would normally use $_POST.
