command line execution of php code

I am running PHP on a Linux system ... i have an occasion to use a PHP script that does not need to be called from a web page. In the case of PERL I use: (/usr/local/bin/perl somescript.pl) is there a way of doing this with PHP. I cant seem to find a PHP executable on my system anywhere . Thanks Mark
