That depends on what you're trying to do. Are you trying to upgrade
you php setup via Yellow Dog's rpms, or build php from scratch on a
Yellow Dog system.
I have Yellow Dog at home and I have no problem compiling
php+mysql+apache.
What I would do is uninstall your existing php rpm
% rpm -e
rpm -qa | grep php
And follow this build instructions.
mysql:
./configure
make
make install
./scripts/mysql_install_db
cp support-files/mysql.server /etc/rc.d/init.d
cd /etc/rc.d/rc0.d
ln -s ../init.d/mysql.server K99mysqld
cd ../rc6.d
ln -s ../init.d/mysql.server K99mysqld
cd ../rc5.d
ln -s ../init.d/mysql.server S99mysqld
cd ../rc3.d
ln -s ../init.d/mysql.server S99mysqld
safe_mysqld &
php:
cd php-4.0.0
( cd ../apache-1.3.12;./configure )
./configure --with-mysql --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 \
--enable-track-vars
make
make install
cp php.ini-dist /usr/local/lib/php.ini
apache:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache \
--activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a --enable-module=so
make
make install
edit /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf and uncomment the php lines as
well
as the php3 line (except the application type should be php and the
extension should be .php3)
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl configtest
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start
done!
