In site editing tools, and Extended Find and Replace feature that allows for regular expressions is an absolute must. The feature is so important that I have not even considered using other programs unless it has that feature, and there are a few I would like to try or use but without this it is not worth the time. I am currently developing a freeware and open source program that will include Syntax File Support (for languages such as VB, C++ etc and html extensions such as php and asp), Multiple undo-redo, auto-indent, block indent/outdent, syntax highlighting, add-in support, related files list, VB project view, powerful insert code window (categorize code, specify variables, and selection points once the text is inserted). Interested? Got some suggestions for other features? It has a default color scheme for PHP. And with the toolbars and snippets I can readily and easily create blocks or commonly used bits of code that I work with. VI is very good for writing code, but vim is much better (www.vim.org)! Vim has some nice features that vi lacks (syntax highlighting, multiple undoes ...). Grretings Heiko "Jason Cox" schrieb in Nachricht ...
Because this is one of those topics that comes up about every two weeks
or
so and it wouldn't be a real discussion without saying it, allow me to
add
my two cents: I think VI is the best PHP editor... I tried to pull up that list but the site was down. I doubt it's on
the
list though. A darn shame. Jason
