Just now, believe me or not, I was asked to "copy" the whole website with
databases on their laptop.
"the only way you could show the website is to carry the servers with you" -
I replied, However a real idea came to my mind:
what sales usually need? - to show. The layout, the output, the
functionality etc.. so why not to set a webserver (MS FrontPage is enough)
on the laptop and then connecting still here to network save files with
their respective filenames. Doing so to copy all the pages needed to present
(sales know - sales are saving, less staff for us to worry about) and then
just show it whenever connection is not present where the meetings are
taking place. Then participants will have our business cards with the URL to
check the REAL website. (common, these guys do have an internet connection
at home and in offices...). In Your case this can be done with CD-ROMs.
Telling you how I just resolved the problem here,
Maxim Maletsky.

Could you just install PHP and MySQL as a standalone on the CD rom, you
could have a little program that would autorun when the cd is put in the
drive that would install the required system files.
Have a look into the various servers and try to find a simple one that you
could use.
if you work it out could you tell me?
Good luck :-)

Why not to make few screenshots of the website on CD rom, then an active
link to the website. They will have to connect to the internet of course,
but I think they'll understand..
In this way they will have their CDs and they can see a real website.
What do you say, will this work?

Thanks, I'll do that.
As regards laptops as someone else suggested ( :) ) I just wish we could
just make them go along that way.
These corps have the bad habit of distributing cds to visitors to peek
at in the quiet of their own offices, and I have the feeling that we
can't suggest 'well, just give each of them a PHP-enabled laptop to take
away'. ;))
