you may have some broken path translations.
I use some trick I sow a while ago in code from free-trade, namely
$le_dir = dirname (__FILE__);
include "$le_dir/start/from/here.inc";

Photoshop already has a clone, called Gimp, helped me some times.
Otherwise, there are some good emulators out there ;)
