No that isn't it. I have used values from 20 to 2048 but nothing is ever
read. As I stated it even hangs on a simple feof($connection). It
doesn't seem to want to read anything from the open socket. I ran the
script against other servers where I have a POP account and it hangs
opening sockets to them as well. However as I stated I can telnet to the
110 POP3 port on those servers and access the information just fine. I
can also use fsockopen against an httpd server and fgets data. If I make
it a non blocking socket it doesn't hand of course but it also doesn't
return any data.
Since I have tried to access POP servers on other hosts in other domains
without success I tend to believe it is something with my version of
PHP, could that be the problem. I have tried running the script on two
different hosts running PHP and both of them act the same.
For anyones reference I am running PHP 3.0.9
I'm totally confused. :-\
