If you're familiar with HTTP mechanics, it should be relatively easy to construct a manual request, see the redirect, follow the redirect, and then watch for the "SetCookie" lines in the response. cURL (http://curl.haxx.se) is a good program for this type of work if you want to at least abstract the connection handling. It should give you at least a finer idea of what exactly is happening. I point you in this direction only because I've used setcookie() for years without ever experience erratic behavior, apart from the obvious issues with sending a header before the cookie which isn't so much erratic behavior as a lack of understanding about HTTP mechanics (not that anyone fully understands them anyway :) John On Mon, 13 Nov 2000, Joao Prado Maia wrote: > > On Mon, 13 Nov 2000, jeremy brand wrote: > > > Could it be that you possibly have output going to your browser before > > the setcookie() is called? > > No it isn't that, because if it was that, the page would not be even > redirecting, since the header() call also has that constraint. > > Everything works, the cookie is just not set.
