No, you're not the only one. I bet most of us are of similar mind
considering this is a PHP list. :-)
In any case, did you hear that Cold Fusion is moving to a Java engine? This
is all from word-of-mouth -- perhaps someone can confirm it -- but I hear
that Allaire is rewriting their scripting engine in Java to make it
cross-platform, and that every CF page will be translated into a JSP page,
which will be translated into a servlet, which will be compiled into a
.class file, which will be interpreted by the Java virtual machine. LOL.
Now I'm all for PHP (or other web scripts) being available on
multiple-platforms, but since when was it of utmost importance to write
cross-platform web apps? What's more, it won't matter to anyone that these
apps are cross-platform. It'll only matter that their browser times out
every time they request a CF page.
