You will _never_ be able to execute an Apache module from the command
line. That's the nature of Apache modules.
Nothing prevents you from have both the PHP Apache module and the
CGI-version of PHP on the same host. It has always been that way, and
PHP 5, 6, whatever probably won't change that.
