another think you can do. If you are running PHP on a unix system, you can use a softlink to link the directory that would receive the email to below the php webpage and use procmail to put it there. You can then use wget in a cron job on unix to trigger the PHP script in the web page, looking for that file. Or you can compile in IMAP support in PHP, and run wget in a cron job to cause the web page to be executed that will run the PHP script. The php script then looks in the IMAP mail for the particular message, parses it, and goes on. If you want to run completely under NT, your choices become more limited. I would suggest getting the cygnus toolkit that allows you to compile programs written for Linux and run them on NT. Then you can put the wget program in an at.exe job on NT. There may be other programs for that platform that do about the same thing, so look around. Stability will be questionable. bug On Sat, 24 Jun 2000, Chris Sano wrote: > > Does anyone know if it is possible to execute an PHP program with an email? > > For example, if I wanted to create a mail list manager and wanted it to send > a mass email to all members on the list, could I send an email from Outlook > to a specified URL and have it trigger the mass email? > > Has anyone done anything similar to tihs in the past? >
